Watts News - June 2016

by Paul Callaway on June 01, 2016
Hey all, it’s been a bit longer than usual to hear from us at Jay Dee, but as they say, no news is generally good news. As most of you are aware, the inquest into Brenda’s death was held and unfortunately it went longer than expected, keeping me away from the office. Sorry for the inconvenience it might have caused some of you, but thankfully it is coming to its conclusion and once done, we expect it to be back to business as usual at Jay Dee’s.

Recent problems with Google Search Web Page:

While I was away, someone hacked into our Google website and was able to alter our front page to say “Jay-Dee’s Permanently Closed.”  Google are investigating the matter, but in the meantime, while we are making regular checks, I ask that if anyone sees any changes to our website, please get in touch with us ASAP, as it might help investigators catch who is doing it.

Stock Take Closure:

As most of you are aware, tax time is fast approaching and we need to do our annual stock-take.  We will be closed on Friday the 17th of June to count all the widgets and doohickeys, so please, please, please, buy lots now to save us counting them and also take advantage of the Financial Year Sale.

END OF FINANCIAL YEAR SALE:

Until 5.00p.m. on Thursday 30th of June, if you spend $1000 before tax on any single invoice, you will receive an additional $100 discount.

End of Financial Year Accounts:

As you know, if you pay off your outstanding bills before the 30th of June, you can claim it straight back from the Tax man.  What you may not realise, is that if you pay us, we can then pay our suppliers and we could claim it back too.  Let’s all work together so we can all pay our outstanding accounts and get the benefit of a tax return.

The Buffalo Theory:

A herd of buffalo can only move as fast as the slowest buffalo and when the herd is hunted by its natural predators, it is generally the slowest and weakest ones at the back that are taken first.  They call it the ‘natural selection’ and while it is no good for the ones captured and eaten, it does help the rest of the herd to increase its speed and improve the overall health of the group.
In much the same way, the human brain can only operate as fast as the slowest brain cells.  Excessive consumption of alcohol, as we all know, kills brain cells, but naturally the alcohol attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first.  In this way, regular consumption of beer must eliminate the weaker brain cells, therefore, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine.
That explains why you always feel smarter after a few beers.

Cheers and have a Great Month
